Hopes that we would see Trent Reznor re-create Grammy award winning gold for what could be a gore fest/drama, was quickly shattered by a note posted on the NIN forum. Reznor writes, “Don’t believe everything you read. As it turns out, I WON’T be working on (acting or scoring) ALVH after all. There’s no juicy story here, it’s just that when the news mysteriously leaked out about my involvement I hadn’t made up my mind completely, because various aspects of the project were changing. I felt the need to say something earlier this week because my inbox was filling up with speculation, and at that moment I thought I would be doing it. Confused yet? Apparently I am.” Even with the change of score, this movie looks extremely promising. The adaptation of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” could have the same adaptation quality as 300, or sin city. The story is about our 16th presidents secret battle and vendetta against vampires, who killed his mother at a young age. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Night Watch, Day Watch) who’s extreme attention to visual detail, always overshadows pacing of the plot, this movie is surely expected to be a spectacle of gore, guts, GCI, long tops hats and glorious beards. In addition to Timurs keen eye for ‘cinematic dramatics’, one item that Timur has to aid is a very strong source material originally written by Seth Grahame-Smith.
