SILENT HILL 3D, OLD CAST, GOOD OR BAD???

The first silent hill movie was ground breaking in set design, however it lacked the creativity and overall atmosphere that the game became so popular for. Its hard to shake the terrible acting that Jodelle Fernland offered us in the first one, it was almost laughable, but the set design and Pyramid heads relentless character design was absolutely worth it.

The second installation, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, already in production, stars “Radha Mitchell (The Crazies, Surrogates), Sean Bean (HBO’s upcoming series “Game of Thrones,” Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, “The Lord of the Rings”), and Deborah Kara Unger (Shake Hands with the Devil, 88 Minutes) will return to join Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Kit Harington (“Game of Thrones”)”-Coming soon.net.

We can only hope that this movie will reflect the same feeling of unease that “Silent Hill: The Room” for ps2 offered us, but with the addition of 3D, this could easily become a Nick Cage desperate attempt at keeping up with new film markets/technology. The film is currently being shot in Toronto, with cinematographer, Maxime Alexandre (the Crazies, Hills have Eyes) Alicia Keywan and Wendy Partridge (Silent Hill, Hell Boy, Messengers.) Fingers crossed for this one, we need a game to film adaptation that truly works.
